Origins of the brand and company

Afro beer as a brand name and company was founded in 2015 by the Phiri family originating from Lusaka in Zambia who are citizens in South Africa for the past 30 years. As of 2025 the company is owned 100% by the Family and are continuing to seek possible growth through out the African continent and to the market outside of the continent.

Afro beer brands include AFRO BEER LAGER, CHEEKY CIDER, LUSAKA GIN and BANTU NATION WHISKEY. The company and brands are primarily based in South Africa which Gauteng province which is where the head offices are.
